Who are you looking for?

I know it’s been a while since I’ve been on here, but I’ve been doing some cleaning, spiritually and physically. Before the new year began, I decided to trash a bunch of old items from my past. I found photos of old boyfriends,  gifts from ex-boyfriends, journal entries that I never want to read again, and a bunch of other junk. It’s time to let it all go. I wanted to start 2016 with open arms to receive all that God has for me.

It was interesting to read some of my journal entries for the past few years. All I could say was, “girl, what were you thinking?!” Taking a look at what I was writing revealed a lot about what was in my heart at that time. A constant theme was “love.” I gave love. I wanted to receive love. I had my heart broken a few times. There were times when I just want to be alone. There were times when I really felt like I was in love, but it wasn’t love. And there were plenty of times where I asked God to reveal me to my feature husband. I didn’t want to live this life alone.

It’s already a new year and Valentine’s Day is just one month away. Who wants to be alone on Valentine’s Day? I sure don’t. But this year will be different. This year I choose to focus on me and my goals to improve myself, not the missed opportunity to be in love with someone. It’s time that I stopped looking for love. I’m not saying that I’m giving up on love. Love will find me when it’s time. The bible says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the LORD.”‭‭(Proverbs‬ ‭18:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬). I’m the one to be found, so I can’t be out here looking for my future husband.

Ladies, we all want to be loved. But it’s important that we allow God to direct our paths to loving the right person. So I ask, who are you looking for? Stop searching for a man. Stop looking for love. Seek after God. He is love, and He will love you better than anyone can.

Keep your Hearts in Faith. 💕
