Heart Beats is a  10-week youth violence prevention program designed for males and females. We currently serve youth ages 12-17 who have witnessed, been a victim or a perpetrator of violence. Youth may join the program at anytime.

Youth violence is a learned behavior, and not only does violence impact a youth physically but also emotionally and mentally. Youth violence also impacts our communities.  Let’s stop the cycle of violence in our homes and communities. Our goal is to strengthen and empower our youth, our Heart Beats, by helping them understand that through life’s ups and downs your Heart still Beats.

Our services include:

  • Violence Prevention Groups
  • Mentorship
  • Youth and Parent education
  • Parent Engagement sessions
  • Assessments and monthly reports to the referral source
  • Referrals to community resources

Where: Riverbend Family Ministries located at 131 E. Ferguson Avenue, Wood River, IL 62095.

When: Mondays at 5-6pm (Boys group) 6:30-7:30 pm (Girls group).
